It is now more than ten years that our family has lived in a smoke-free environment and we are very happy. Before I had my first asthma attack and most of our children became asthmatic as well, we never thought that second-hand smoke could be so toxic. We became aware that it had been easy to underestimate the damage that second-hand smoke can cause and so found it very important to quickly react by daring to enforce a smoke-free environment. It is not always easy to ask people who smoke to go outside, but they understand when we explain. Living in a smoke-free house is one of the best gifts we have given to each other, my husband and I, as well as to our children and grandchildren, who are soon on the way. Thank you and good luck to everyone who makes the effort to quit smoking or to not make others put up with polluted air. Keep in mind that it is the best gift you can give to those you love!
